Our History

The Metropolitan Black Police Association Women’s Forum (MBPAWF) was established in the year 2000. Its’ purpose is to direct attention to the needs of BME women within the association.

At a strategic level the forum would seek to identify barriers to the development and career progression of BME women within the police service.

Whilst this forum is predominately aimed at our female members, it is not merely concerned with women’s issues, nor is it, a vehicle for negative criticism of men. It is however about, eradicating sexism and racism in the workplace and society at large and equality and empowerment for our female members.

The MBPAWF, working with our male colleagues in the association will hold the police service to account to ensure BME female are no longer treated as second-class citizens, but as equals.
