Annual General Meetings

Every year the Metropolitan Black Police Association holds its Annual General Meeting (AGM). It is here that members have an opportunity to find out what has been happening in the Association throughout the year and they can meet the Executive Committee. The meeting is divided into two sessions; the morning session is exclusive to members (Full, Associate and ‘Friends of’), whilst the afternoon session is open to all.

The Morning Session:

Each member will have a copy of the Annual Report. This report is a collation of individual written reports submitted by all Postholders and each MetBPA Portfolio Lead. They will each highlight the description and workings of each Portfolio, while detailing any developments that have been made and any challenges that they may have encountered. Each Portfolio Lead delivers their report orally and proposes their aims and objectives for the upcoming year. During this session, members are encouraged to engage with the Portfolio Leads, ask questions (Q&A) and give feedback .

(N.B The voting in of the incoming Executive Committee only takes place in the morning session every two years. Only Full members are eligible to vote).

The Afternoon Session:

This session is open to all who wish to attend and consists of guest speakers from the Metropolitan Police Service, The Mayor’s Office for Policing And Crime (MOPAC), the general public/community and experts from professions relating to the theme of the AGM. Each guest speaker delivers a presentation which is then followed by a Q&A session. The AGM concludes with a networking session.
