A black woman officer in Scotland Yard’s elite police unit today said she hoped “justice would be done” as her racial discrimination claim against the Metropolitan police opened.
Carol Howard, 34, a Diplomatic Protection Group firearms officer, claims her career has been held back. She alleges that a senior male DPG officer has denied her equal opportunities because of her race and sex.
