Leroy Logan, past chair, retirement

Superintendent Leroy Logan’s retirement from Metropolitan Police Service after thirty plus years of distinguished service to Policing and Communities of London.

The MetBPA pay tribute to one of its early pioneers and one of the great architects of the movement to reform British Policing from ‘the inside out’ with regard to race relations.

Leroy has been a constant source of inspiration to the MetBPA from its launch, through to the being Chair and still on the current executive.

Leroy contributed to the written submission and oral submission at the Lawrence Inquiry in the late nineties, developing youth programmes in response to concerns about violent crime, responding to the London Riots in 2011 through to today’s racism and corruption scandal relating to Surveillance of the Lawrence campaign.

It is right that the MetBPA pays tribute to our past chair and current executive member on his retirement from the police service. Leroy will continue to serve on the new executive. We wish Leroy and his family the very best for the new life ahead.
